Szene 1, Take 1… und Action! Das Flimmerfest geht in die 8. Runde! Am 19. Und 20. Juni öffnet das Produktionslabor der HAW Hamburg wieder seine Türen für das studentische Kurzfilmfestival und deine Kreativität ist gefragt.

2026 steht das Festival unter dem Motto WECHSELSPANNUNG – in der Elektrotechnik eine Spannung, die ständig zwischen zwei Extremen pendelt und so im Durchschnitt trotzdem auf null steht. Wechselspannung ist aber auch Zeitgeist: als Sinnbild für Richtungswechsel, das Auf und Ab, für Wandel und die Spannungen, die damit einhergehen. Zwischen Menschen, zwischen Nationen, in deiner Stadt oder auf der Welt; ein Blick in die Schlagzeilen oder auf soziale Medien genügt.

In dieser bewegten Zeit ist Film ein Medium, das widerspiegeln, aber auch Halt geben kann. Was möchtest du festhalten? Teil es mit uns! Egal, ob Fakt oder Fiktion, narrativ oder abstrakt, Live-Action oder Animation. Lass dich nicht durch Konventionen einschränken! Eure Beiträge in den Kategorien KURZFILM FIKTION, DOKUMENTATION, EXPERIMENTALFILM, MUSIKVIDEO und ANIMATION werden bei uns im Produktionslabor auf die große Leinwand projiziert und unsere Fachjury kürt in jeder Kategorie ihren Favoriten. Wir freuen uns außerdem auf Panels mit Gästen aus der Film-Branche!

AUDIOVISION: MUSIKVIDEO

Musik ist universelle Sprache, ein Bild sagt mehr als tausend Worte – in der Vereinigung sind deinem Ausdruck keine Grenzen gesetzt. Sei es dein Lieblingssong, die Band deiner Freunde oder dein eigenes Bedroom Demo, zeig uns deine Vision dazu!

MULTIDIMENSIONAL: ANIMATION

Deine eigene Fantasiewelt erschaffen, die Grenzen der Physik außer acht lassen – Animation bietet einzigartige Möglichkeiten. Egal ob du gerne zeichnest, Stunden auf Blender verbringen kannst oder mit Stop-Motion dein Fingerspitzengefühl beweisen willst. Lass deiner Kreativität freien Lauf!

Scene 1, take 1… and action! Round 8 of FLIMMERFEST has just begun! On June 19 & 20 the HAW Hamburg production lab will open its doors for the student short film festival and we need your contributions.

This year’s motto is CHANGE or WECHSELSPANNUNG („alternating voltage“), a term used in electrical engineering to describe a current that continuously swings between two extremes, yet still amounts to zero in its sum. At the same time, it can be a metaphor for the zeitgeist: for shifting directions, highs and lows, for change and the tensions that come with it. Between people, nations, in your city or in the world; one look at the headlines or social media is enough.

In this ephemeral age, film as a medium can be a reflection, but it can also give you something to hold on to. What do you want to capture in these times? Show it to us! No matter if fact or fiction, narrative or abstract, live-action or animation. Don’t let yourself be limited by conventions! Your entries in the categories FICTION, DOCUMENTARY, EXPERIMENTAL, MUSIC VIDEO and ANIMATION will be shown on the big screen at the production lab and our expert judges will choose their favorites from each category. We’re also looking forward to panels with guests from the film industry.

Music is a universal language, a picture says more than a thousand words – when you combine the two, there’s no limit to your creative expression. If it’s your favorite song, your friends‘ band or your own bedroom demo, show us your vision for it!

Creating your own fantasy world, disregarding the limits of physics — animation offers so many unique opportunities. No matter if you love to draw, can spend hours on Blender or if you want to prove your diligence through stop-motion. Let your creativity run free!
